Get yourself together by becoming crystal clear on the who and what in your life

The clarity of this water was breathtaking which inspired me to take this photo on a south-pacific island beach.  In contrast, on the same island I came across a shiver of sharks lurking below the surface of the water.  When you have certainty in your life, your mind is crystal clear.  Our negative thoughts can be like those sharks, ominous shadows that are moving around and clouding our decisions.

Many of us struggle with trying (and failing) to fulfill the many roles and responsibilities in life.  Having clarity of who you want in your life, and what is important to you brings a sense of peace and harmony. I encourage you to think and become crystal clear on whom and what is important in your life.  To help you find clarity with your thinking, here are a few questions to ponder:

  • Who is important in your life?
  • Who do you want to share your life with?
  • Who brings you joy and happiness?
  • Who is missing from your life?

Let’s now think about how you spend your time each day.  Again, here are some questions to help you identify how you’d like to spend your time each day:

  • What type of work gives you a sense of purpose?
  • What activities do you find fun and energising?
  • What do you want to contribute to your community?
  • What are you not doing that you wish you were doing?

Finally, think about your values.  Values are the leading principles that can guide and motivate us through life.  Can you identify your core values?  I have explained my values and how you can find your values in a previous post.  You can take a look and see if you align with any of them, or they may inspire you to embrace your own values.

There are lots of questions in this post and I’m curious to know your thoughts and what’s now crystal clear for you.  Please share in the comments below.
