Unlock Your Potential this Spring – Discover the Power of Goal Setting

For many, Spring is a delightful season filled with sunshine, blooming flowers, and the promise of fresh beginnings. It’s a time that inspires us to embrace new chapters in our lives, filling our hearts with joy and optimism. However, as Spring approaches, it may evoke a range of emotions for some. While bidding farewell to the cozy comforts of winter can be bittersweet, Spring universally represents new life and opportunities. It’s the perfect season to reassess our goals, offering a sense of excitement and a chance for positive transformation. Much like the changing of the seasons, making life changes can be a unique experience for each individual.

As Spring universally represents new life and new beginnings, it can be a great time to reassess our goals. This can be an exciting new venture, but also poses its own challenges. Much like the changing of the seasons, making changes in life can feel different for different people. Some of us may find new energy and excitement when setting new goals. Others may find the process leaves them feeling colder than the winter.

Does goal setting pose a challenge to you? Or is fulfilling your goals the real issue?

Many of us believe that motivation and/or willpower is needed to achieve our goals. But really, the more important thing is our habits. As the saying goes: “Motivation gets you started and habit keeps you going.” Habits are external behaviours we develop that can help or hinder our progress. Being able to control or modify our behaviours can sometimes be sustainable. Other times, it’s not.

So, is there an alternative? Yes, there is… Be Inspired!

Inspiration comes from our internal feelings and emotions. It is the connection between what we want externally and how we want to feel internally. Where do you find inspiration?

Start by taking a fresh look at your goals and what you want to achieve. Then, add a layer of feelings and emotions by asking yourself: “How do I want to feel when I have achieved (my goal)?”

Connect to this emotion and feel the feeling. Inspiration is present when you want to achieve the feeling more than you want to achieve the goal.

Inspiration is the key as it connects your awareness to your most desired feelings. After all, we all want to feel good about ourselves.

Be encouraged to add this layer of emotion to your goals! Your voice matters! I’d love to hear your story about how inspiration has influenced your goal-setting journey. Share your insights in the comments.
